Nvidia 9600GT, gonna upgrade to 260GTX when Nvidia makes them @ 55nm

Gigabyte EP45 DS3
currently using a 17'' monitor wich will be a 24'' if i upgrade my vid card.
2 sticks of 2GB memory, however one of them died so now on 2 GB memory
creative X-Fi audio card
i got a job so expecting to upgrade my computer soon.

Um the dude, lord_shar with the case apart. I have 2 words for you. Air Flow. By removing the side panel you decrease the airflow of the computer that is designed to flow over the heat sinks. My guess is that your fans are coming on to cool your chip set.
I know that it looks kewl but it really is bad for the system. I trust that you just removed the cover for the picks.
Now how do I know this I fried my processor cause I took my side cover off and there was not enough air flow to cool it even with the fan going.
I am just trying to help
